What is the Renaissance Program?
The Sport & Medical Sciences Academy Renaissance Program is designed to create and foster a nurturing and positive learning environment for all students and staff at Sport and Medical Sciences Academy. Students and staff will be recognized and showcased in a variety of ways including a STUDENT OF THE MONTH and STAFF MEMBER OF THE MONTH program, a RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS ceremony and through a variety of other programs.
Student of the Month
who exemplifies the 4 Core Beliefs of the school: Discipline, Responsibility, Dedication, and Respect. Each month a student will be selected and recognized on school bulletin boards, in school literature and through Public Address Announcements. Each student of the month will also receive a special award, which may include a certificate and a prize.
Staff Member of the Month
Staff member of the month program is designed to recognize and showcase an SMSA staff member who through words and actions is able to offer outstanding service to the academic, social and emotional needs of the students at SMSA. Each month a staff member will be selected and recognized by a committee of students. The winning staff member will be recognized on school bulletin boards, in school literature, and in public address announcements. In addition staff members will receive a certificate of award, a letter of commendation and a token of appreciation.

Random Acts of Kindness
Random Acts of Kindness program is designed to recognize all Sport and Medical Sciences Academy students who go above and beyond to help themselves, other students, staff members and the school in general. Students who, through their actions, demonstrate and promote caring, kindness and respect will be identified and recognized in a monthly ceremony. In addition, each student will receive a token of recognition for his or her act of kindness.
